More Cub Sport More Cub Sport

Brisbane band Cub Sport's show in LA last night was attended by an Australian music legend and we can't tell who was more chuffed about it.

Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes, who also happened to be celebrating his 47th birthday, attended the show at The Echo and praised the four-piece later on Twitter.

"Felt like I was having one of those 'I was there when..' moments, seeing this clearly stadium energy sized (and talented) band in a venue they'll never play that small again," Hayes wrote.

"[Frontman Tim Nelson] reminds me of Michael Hutchence and an actual archangel. [Vocalist/keyboardist Sam Netterfield] is magical."

Cub Sport were clearly equally as thrilled with Hayes' presence and managed to get a picture with the ARIA Award-winning songwriter post-show.

"From being inspired by Savage Garden to meeting Darren at a Cub Sport show is just the most mind-blowing and beautiful full circle moment," the band wrote on an Instagram post.

Cub Sport's US tour continues in San Diego tonight.
