The one-man music machine will play two shows in each country this September
LA-and-New-York-based darkwave/synthpop provocateur Wesley Eisold, aka Cold Cave, is bringing his cheerfully named People Are Poison tour to Australia and New Zealand with two shows in each country this September.
Currently in the throes of a European tour with industrial rock legends Nine Inch Nails, Cold Cave – who since last year has featured Amy Lee as part of his live show, at least at home – will be joined by rising Wellington outfit Black City Lights for the shows in that band's hometown as well as Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney.
The baritone-voiced singer-songwriter is two albums deep into his career, with 2009's Love Comes Close and 2011's Cherish The Light Years behind him. He has previously collaborated with artists such as Hatebreed's Sean Martin, Prurient's Dominick Fernow, and Caralee McElroy of Xiu Xiu, and he just recently released a compilation of limited-edition singles on Full Cold Moon, while tentatively titled third LP Sunflower is just as tentatively slated to drop at some stage this year also… though Eisold is clearly going to be a very busy man over the next few months.
The tour kicks off in Wellington on September 4. Enjoy a slice of some of Eisold's distinctive tunesmithery, below, and then check the Gig Guide or Cold Cave's Facebook page for further venue and ticketing details.
