The ‘90s hip hop child star was found dead just hours ago.
Chris Kelly, one half of chart topping early '90s hip hop group Kris Kross has died in his home city of Atlanta this morning, Australian time, according to Georgian officials.
He was unresponsive when found at his home by his cousin on Monday night, local time, well respected Atlanta based DJ Greg Street has said. Kelly was pronounced dead at the Atlanta Medical Centre not long after, according to Fox. Cause of death is yet to be released.
Kelly, whose nickname in the group was Mac Daddy, found huge success in his very early teens when the 1992 Kris Kross single Jump became a worldwide smash hit, topping the US charts for eight weeks and going double platinum at the time.
The song also topped the charts in Australia upon its release and remained in the top spot for three weeks. It reached the number 12 position on the year end charts. Follow up single Warm It Up reached a peak of number 21 a couple of months later and was their last charting single in Australia.

The duo were also renowned for their unique fashion sense, wearing much of their clothing backwards.
