Iconic New York punk rock club CBGB is reported to be lending its name to a new music festival in the works. According to the New York Times, the current owners of the name are looking to start a music festival in New York and to reopen a CBGB club in the city.

An investor in CBGB, Tim Hayes, has commented that "We're never going to recreate that moment in time. We're trying to continue the idea of supporting live music, making a lot of noise and being a part of New York City. The festival is one way we can do it. Eventually the club will be another way we can do it."
