After a number of releases, tours and five years in the game, Brisbane pop-punk outfit Call The Shots have called it a day, retiring the band indefinitely.

The band released this brief statement earlier tonight, announcing that the quintet would be closing up shop, and that a final show is due for announcement in the coming weeks/months. Check it out below.

"Dear fans of Call The Shots,

It has come time that we say goodbye to this band.

It has been a wild ride from day one and we are so grateful for each and every one of you and your support.

There will be ONE FINAL CALL THE SHOTS SHOW announced soon!

Below is an extended statement from Josh, explaining why.

Thankyou for all the good times.

- Josh, Riley, Dylan & Harry"

Now, that "extended statement" mentioned above from singer Josh Setterfield really is an extended post, and so we've broken it up into parts for you reading pleasure.

So first up is the general gist of the band's break-up:

"You know, I never thought I would be writing this post.

Unfortunately, it seems all things DO come to an end..

It may or may not come as a suprise...

It definitely has for me...

But 'Call The Shots' has finally come to an end.

And you know, I've seen people post stuff like;

'Nobody gives a fuck if your shitty local band broke up'

but since this was the last 7 years of my life, I will post whatever the fuck I want to...

Being one person in a band, your dream relies on 4 other people in your group, as well as yourself.

And unfortunately, when not everyone wants it as bad as you do, it affects you also.

Two of our new members have decided that this isn't what they want to do with their lives.

We can't force them to want this.

With that being said, Call The Shots has been through so many member changes over the last few years that it's just gotten to a point where we need to think what's best for the band... Not what we WANT.

As hard as this is, especially for me,

We have decided to put CTS to rest and remember it for the good times it was instead of searching for members and trying to fix it again.

We can't keep trying to revive it, when it seems it doesn't want to be revived.

It's like a curse."

At least they've let it run its natural course and aren't going to try and force it. Now, the sentimental part:

"Since starting Call The Shots, we have done some pretty insane things..

Things that I never thought were possible,

Things I only dreamt about.

Like I've played alongside You Me At Six, Tonight Alive, Short Stack, The Getaway Plan, The Story So Far, Mest, The Wonder Years, As It Is, to name a few!

We toured Australia on Vans FUCKING Warped Tour alongside The Offspring, New Found Glory, The Used, Veara, Reel Big Fish and my all time FAVOURITE band, that I got to hangout with for a week, Simple Plan!

One of our ep's also has one of my favourite vocalists, Tony from MEST, feature on a track,

We've been on a heap of major radio stations like B105, Nova, Triple M, Triple J for interviews and songs.

I've seen and read about myself in News Papers and well known magazines like Dolly Magazine, Girlfriend Magazine, Dmag, TV Hits and more..

Our band has been on TV multiple times and we made an appearance on Channel V..

It's insane.

The list of achievements is almost endless for a shitty local band.

And I don't want this to be the end..

I really don't.

But we can't keep changing this band because it's no longer 'Call The Shots'.

so we have decided that it's time to call it a day.

This band has led me to make some of the best friends I could ever ask for from all over the world and in some places I would probably have never gone if it wasn't for being in a touring band..

With this post, I wanna give some shout outs and some thank you's.."

Here is the inevitable shout outs to certain places, bands and various industry people:

"Shout out to Perth, I'm sorry we never made it over. We were so close to finally making it happen with our next tour. We still love you guys so so much and thankyou for your support and hopes that we would one day play a show for you guys.

I'm sorry we let you down.

Adelaide, and all your Adelbabes,

Sorry we haven't seen you guys in awhile, but thank you for the insane parties and shows.

Some of the best times of my life were spent in Adelaide and I'll never forget these memories.

To our fans all over the world, I'm sorry that we never got the chance to meet or play for you, but your support is beyond appreciated. I love you all so so much.

A massive Thank you to AJ Maddah from Soundwave..

You gave us a shot.

You made my dreams of playing alongside some of my favourite bands, come true.

I will forever have respect for you, no matter what people say.

You're a fucking legend man, And thank you so much.

Thanks to anybody who has let us sleep on your floor or crash on your couch over the years, you have saved our ass so many times.

Random shout out to gauney and the time we got drunk and rockstarishly trashed her house and broke her bed. Wild nights.

All the bands we played with that supported us, let us support them or toured with,

We have made some friends over the years that we will never forget.

You guys know who you are and I hope we still get to catchup next time we are in each other's cities.

(Thanks 5SOS for supporting us before you were massive lel)

Special shoutout to our boys in Masketta Fall for all the good party times, Pig Bombs, terrible drunken acapella harmonies to security guards to get into clubs after lockout (that never worked), and just being genuine and great dudes.

The DUWD tour was one of the best times of my life and I wish I could go back to that time everyday.

These boys are doing amazing things and taking on the world. Check them out if you don't know them.

Proud to call them my friends.

The original, main members of 'Autumn Heartache' (the original band name), Damien, Chris and Greg.

We have so many stories and so many good times in our memories that I could talk about it for days.

But thank you guys for being the start of something that I never thought would happen. the memories I have with you three will stay with me forever.

I love you guys and we should all hang out and drink some beers and say the C word lots real soon.

Miss us all together like crazy.

To Mitch, Moke and my good friend Dion, the Call The Shots that most people will remember...

What can I say boys, we wanted something, and we fucking got it.

2013 was the best, most hard working year of my life, we achieved and accomplished SO much and I couldn't have done it without you guys.

Call The Shots will always be in my heart as the 5 members we were that year.

I miss you all, and good luck with all your future plans.

I will always support you guys with whatever you do xxx

Our manager, Dayna.

You have helped us create and achieve everything amazing we have ever had.

You were the 6th member of CTS and I can never explain how grateful i am to have met you and have you working with this band.

I have made a life long friend with you, and I will always appreciate everything you have done, not only for the band, but me personally.

... Riley.

The one dude who has stuck by me since the day Call The Shots was announced.

We have been through some crazy times together these last years.

Everything we have achieved, we've done it together.

When ever one of us was having a shit time, we would be there for one another and make sure we stuck to it and kept at it.

I can't tell you how stoked I am to have had you by my side for this entire journey of CTS and I hope that whatever happens from here on, we never forget what we have done and the things we achieved in this band.

We did this together.

It's you and me man.

Love ya xx"

And now, the fan appreciation and the final wrap-up:

"To our Fans... our CTSarmy heart emoticon

Without you, we would never have gotten anywhere at all.

You guys made us the 2nd most talked about thing in the world at one point, and that shows the strength of the CTSarmy!

From waiting for us when we arrived at airports / to screaming every one of my lyrics back at me while we were on stage / the endless amount of made gifts / to hanging around for 4 hours after every show just to meet us...

I will be forever grateful for all you have done, not only for the band, but for ME also.

You've saved my life, more times than you will ever know.

Your support keeps me going.

I have been at this since day one and am the only original member of this band left...

And that's because of you guys.

You kept me believing, you kept my dream alive, and I've made friends for life with you guys that I will never forget.

I hope you don't forget me as this chapter comes to an end.

I love you all so fucking much.

Thanks for making me feel like a fucking Rockstar.

Don't Stop Believin' ❤️

As for the future...

Riley, Dylan and I are talking about starting a new band together.

I'm also working on Solo music that will be released really soon.

We don't want to stop.

And although nothing is set just yet,

I hope you will all still be around to support us with whatever we choose to do next.

We will be releasing a Final Song and announcing a FINAL CALL THE SHOTS SHOW soon.

Thanks everyone for the good times.

So long and thanks for the booze ❤️

'JoshhSHOTS' out for the final time *Salutes*

Ps.

U R"

Call The Shots most recent and, as it stands now, final single was 'Fantasy', released back in February, and marks a solid send-off for the group.

Cheers guys.
