Hollywood are apparently loving the biopics right now.

More Boy George More Boy George

It looks like Boy George is next in line to get the music biopic treatment... for a second time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, US giants MGM are currently developing a feature film about the UK singer, which will cover his upbringing through to the rise of Culture Club.

The biopic is set to be written and directed by Sacha Gervasi, who was behind 2012 biopic Hitchcock (which also received some Oscar nominations, including a Best Actress nod for Helen Mirren).

However, this wouldn't be the first Boy George biopic to be made. In 2010, TV film Worried About The Boy aired around the world and starred Douglas Booth as George (who also played Nikki Sixx in Netflix's Motley Crue biopic The Dirt this year), and Richard Madden (Game Of Thrones, The Bodyguard).

The news comes after the huge success of Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which racked up $900 million globally at the box office, as well as Elton John film Rocketman which hits cinemas across Australia today.

George is currently in Australia in support of the latest season of The Voice screening now on the Nine network.

Meanwhile, acclaimed Aussie director Baz Luhrmann is set to film an Elvis Presley biopic on the Gold Coast, with US actor and film legend Tom Hanks confirmed to play The King's manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

The role of Presley is yet to be cast.
