'III' will be yours to own in November
Mariachi El Bronx, the Mexican-flavoured alter egos of Los Angelean punk mainstays The Bronx, have announced that they will release their third full-length album — the aptly titled III — in just a little under two months.
Set to hit stores on November 7 via White Drugs/Cooking Vinyl Australia, the acclaimed Californians have compiled ten new tracks of genre-challenging, marvellous cacophony, with most of the album being recorded at Charlottesville, Virginia's Haunted Hallow Studios.
The band spent two weeks in the isolated countryside locale with their previous albums' (and Oingo Boingo) producer John Avila, with the resulting works tackling everything from impassioned social commentary to thoughtful introspection as well as some boasting guest appearances from the likes of DJ Bonebreak (Nothing's Changed) and harp virtuoso Willie Acuna of Mariachi Sol de Mexico (Raise The Dead).
The band's last mariachi-inspired effort, II, did much to cement the outfit as one of the US' foremost groups of entertainers and performers, with the album soaring straight to #1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in August of 2011. Though the short trailer video below doesn't tell us much beyond the details we already know, it's enough to get us excited for the potential wonderment Mariachi El Bronx may cook up for their third time at bat.
