The Port Macquarie-based boutique event returns for round three this October
The third annual boutique Wildwood Music Festival is set to return to Port Macquarie in October this year with an acclaimed line-up of diverse musical acts led by celebrated ensemble Blue King Brown, magnetic performer Montaigne and many more.
Also headed to the event's home, about four hours out of Sydney, for the one-day event are the likes of stalwart troubadour Claude Hay, beatbox/folk crew The Lyrical, dub-rock mainstays Mar Haze, folk/roots singer-songwriter James Bennett, blues/rock singer-songwriter Roy Rose, acoustic earth-and-roots luminary Benje Travis, guitarist/vocalist Lauren Edwards, fellow string-smith Sam Verkouter and indie/garage-rock trio Royal Chant.
Unsurprisingly, organiser Simon Leigh has said that this year's Wildwood Music Fest is set to be the biggest and best in its short life to date as more and more punters flock in from further and further afield — although last year (which featured performances from Lior, Hussy Hicks, Lara Bell, Jordan Millar and more) will still prove quite the high-water mark to beat.
"Last year we knew we had reached new heights with the festival which has traditionally been attended by local folks," Leigh said in a statement. "It’s been so well received we decided to ramp it up a notch and encourage like-minded festival people from Brisbane to Sydney to come.

"At the conclusion of last year's event, the whole forest filled with fireflies as punters were leaving the venue and adults and kids alike were covered from head to toe illuminated in their sparkling aurora; it was truly a magical ending to a really special day."
The fully licensed 2016 Wildwood Music Festival is family-friendly, and will feature children's activities as well as market stalls in addition to the musical attractions.
It all goes down in Port Macquarie on Sunday 2 October. Tickets are available now.
