Festival founder Ken West has today launched a website titled Ken Fest, celebrating 30 years of Big Day Out.

The website features archived festival posters as well as chapters from a forthcoming book reflecting on the massive event.

The chapters released today reflect on the first six years of Big Day Out; its formation and survival in an ever-changing world.

"The Big Day Out for me was life-changing, and the first six years were the heart and soul of a great adventure. A different world, innocent, dangerous, optimistic and a lot of fun," West said.

"As the 25th of January 2022 is the 30th birthday of the Big Day Out festival, I wanted to share some crazy memories to hopefully brighten up what continue to be sad days, especially for the producers, artists, workers and fans in the music world.

"The book itself is written, however with thousands of photos, artwork and documents to integrate it is constantly evolving."
