The new and improved space will allow the cafe to operate with a bar licence, extending trading hours and accommodating more patrons

WA's famous Vinyl Cafe is officially relocating to a bigger and better space, just across the street from their current Leederville location.

Officially opening in their new digs on the ground floor of The Foundry building in May 2023, the new and improved space will allow the cafe to operate with a bar licence, extending trading hours and accommodating more patrons. The extra space will also offer more opportunities for the venue to host bigger events than before.

“This space is brand new and designed from the ground up but will still have a fun and welcoming feel to it,” said Vinyl Café’s Dylan Sainsbury. “We will have several beers on tap plus quality and good value cocktails, wines and packaged local beers, a dedicated coffee window, indoor and outdoor seating, and best of all more space so we can host more live music and vinyl DJs. There will also be a fully equipped commercial kitchen will mean we will be offering a lot more than just the toasties and bagels Vinyl Café has become famous for.

“We’re going to be trading as a small bar in the new space meaning we can trade more evenings and being bigger means it will be a lot more viable to have a lot more live music and vinyl DJs,” said Sainsbury. “The aim isn’t to become another live music venue but to keep regular nights happening such as our monthly acoustic punk night and our live electronic nights. As well as bringing back the morning live jazz on Sundays and plenty of DJ sessions in between,” reports Xpress Mag

Despite the changes, Vinyl Cafe are adamant that patrons will still enjoy the same relaxed vibe the place is known for.

“The personal service and welcoming friendly atmosphere definitely won’t change. We have a great team and some awesome candidates to join us and add to the range of skills, knowledge and personality of the business. My passion and the long hours I spend at Vinyl Cafe certainly isn’t going to change any time soon.”
