Renowned locals Dubmarine will handle support duties
Brooklyn/Tel Aviv-bred, genre-transcending outfit Balkan Beat Box have named a string of east-coast tour dates to complement their previously announced trip to Australia for March's WOMADelaide event.
Kicking off at Brisbane's Hi-Fi on Friday, March 6, the acclaimed trio — Tamir Muskat, Ori Kaplan (ex-Gogol Bordello) and Tomer Yosef — will then grace WOMADelaide's stages twice from March 7-9, before heading back up to Sydney on Wednesday, March 11, for a gig at the Oxford Art Factory, and down to Melbourne's Prince Bandroom on Thursday, March 12. Post-Australia, Balkan Beat Box hop the ditch to make it their first-ever trans-Tasman tour; they wrap up their southern exploration at New Zealand's WOMAD event from March 13-15.
With a politically incendiary recent full-length, Give, behind them, and esteemed Aussie outfit Dubmarine steadfastly at their side as supports for BBB's headline performances, antipodean audiences are all set for an eclectic, energetic evening when the multi-talented touring troubadours roll down the right coast next year.
Tickets for Balkan Beat Box's forthcoming journey to Australia go on sale at 9am next Wednesday, November 19; WOMADelaide tickets are already available. For more information, hit up theGuide or see The Music App.
