Australia Well Represented In Edinburgh Festival Fringe Line-up

The annual Edinburgh Festival Fringe line-up has been unveiled and fetures a plethora of Australian talent.

This year's internationally-renown Fringe showcases a large contingency of local performers, led by Paul KellyTomas Ford, Barry Morgan, The Axis Of Awesome, Celia Pacquola, Denise Scott, Hannah Gadsby, Heath Franklin and Sam Simmons amongst many more names.

The Scottish event this year is to be staged from August 3 to August 27 and boasts music, comedy, cabaret, dance and theatre from artists as varied as The Charlatans and King Creosote, Suggs (Madness frontman-turned-stand-up) and Sean Hughes.

Amongst the Australian comedy at Edinburgh in 2012 is Yve Blake, Michael Workman, Tommy Little, Arnie Pie, Marie Connolly, Dave Thorton, Eric Hutton, Madeline Culp, Gravity Boots, Cameron The Comedian Davis, Bonnie Davis, Jackson Voorhaar, Jennifer Carnovale, John Robertson, Strut 'N' Fret, Tom Flanagan, Imaan Hadchiti, Marcus Ryan, John Conway, Michael Burke, Morvern Smith, Jon Bennett, Ro Campbell, Ethan Addie, Ryan Withers, Sarah Jones, Tim Lee, Vachel Spirason and Stephanie Brotchie (Slow Clap), Xavier Toby and, already-buzzing, surreal experimentalist, Nick Sun.

Australian cabaret on at Fringe includes Sugar & Vice, Bordello Blues, Briefs, Crab House, Kiera Daly and Funkier Than Alice.

Representing Australia in theatre are Stuart Bowden, John Felix, Sarah Hamilton, MKA's The Economist, Apple Spiel, Faulty Towers, Love Child, Nick Coyle and Out Cast Theatre. On the dance front we are sending Hipsync, Diane Reid and Dance Pad Flash Mob.

In the music program, Australians include Tom Loud, John McNamara, Australian Voices and Tom Thum.
