Sounds Australia, PPCA and AIR sending labels to Indie Week
Australia will be sending a delegation to the invite-only Indie Week conference in New York City this June, with Sounds Australia, PPCA and the Australian Independent Record Labels Association [AIR] now seeking local labels who want to attend the event.
The pilot program is the first time Sounds Australia have singled out labels and PPCA are part of the project as a funding body of Sounds Australia. AIR will coordinate the delegation.
Run by the American Association Of Independent Music [A2IM], Indie Week is attended by representatives of independent labels from around the world with a strong emphasis on networking and business development. AIR's General Manager Nick O'Byrne attended last year's event and described it as, “One of the best events I've attended for labels. High level discussions amongst a relatively close-knit but influential and forward-thinking group of music businesses.”
A2IM have extended ten invites to Australian labels and expressions of interest should be made via this survey.
