Is there any hope for an Australian tour?

Depeche Mode seem to be teasing a new tour announcement, and it’s gotten some Australian fans hopeful for the legendary outfit to land on our shores.
Performing at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany, on Friday (7 July), a message appeared on the screens: “2024” on one screen and “10.7 10:00 CET”.
Fan account Depeche Down Under wrote on Twitter following the image circling on social media, “Next set of #DepecheMode tour dates announced 6pm Monday Sydney time. Likely European indoor venues. Could give an indication as to whether an Australia/Asia tour is realistic.”
In a conversation with Depeche Down Under, the fan says they’ve heard from a source in the UK that there was a “strong chance” of the band coming to Australia next year. The Twitter user predicts that only European tour dates will drop tonight, then Australia later. They remain hopeful despite only having rumours to hold on to at this stage.
A source that's reportedly close to the band dropped this bombshell on Facebook last week:

Another fan who goes by One Planet Mikey said last night, “In a little over 24 hours I'll find out if the rumours are true and Depeche Mode announces dates in Australia for 2024. I have never been this hopeful about an Australian tour before.”
That hope doesn’t come from nowhere. In March, vocalist Dave Gahan let slip that Depeche Mode will be heading our way in support of their new album, Memento Mori, in an interview with Italian blog Pierluigi Piccini.
Speaking about future plans, Gahan revealed they have “a series of as-yet-unannounced dates in Asia and Australia, through spring 2024”, their first down under in 30 years. It’s worth noting that Gahan’s reference to Spring 2024 could be for springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, which is our Autumn.
Polish website 101DM has rounded up numerous tour rumours, with the publication suggesting that the music icons could be touring Australia in February 2024. 101DM believes that European dates are coming tonight at 6 pm AEST – is there any hope for an Australian tour?
The Music has reached out to representatives for Depeche Mode for comment.
A petition was launched last year when Depeche Mode’s ‘world tour’ was announced and excluded Australia.
The British band’s last tour of Australia was in 1994 in support of Songs Of Faith And Devotion.
