Aussie Bands Advocate Starting A Church To Play Gigs

Two years into the pandemic artists are still being forced to cancel and postpone shows while watching other industries get somewhat of a free pass.

And while the music vs sport debate has been at the forefront of that conversation for the duration of the COVID crisis, some local acts have set their sights on another sector that’s frequently bypassing heavy-handed restrictions.


Aussie faves The Jungle Giants have taken to Facebook to see if anyone’s keen on joining them on an endeavour of biblical proportions.

And very appropriately, they immediately garnered the support of Holy Holy:

Singer-songwriter Bec Sandridge has also joined the campaign, tweeting “Sign me up” in response.

Following some discourse with a fan on Twitter, The Jungle Giants said they were “seriously considering it” and were “gunna make some calls”.

Another fan produced this gem in the comments of the band’s Facebook post:

“Our Jungle Giants, who art in New South Wales, hallowed be thy name; thy music come; thy guitars do strum on arenas as it is in bars. Give us this song our daily jam; and forgive us our missed notes as we forgive those sing louder at concerts than the actual band; and lead us not into podcasts, but deliver us from boring nights.”
