"Dropout Kings live up to their name."
Perth Liveconformdie have blasted US nu-metal act Dropout Kings for living up to their name and dropping out of their imminent tour of Australia at the last minute.
The tour was due to kick off on October 27 in Brisbane, and Liveconformdie were due to play all shows on the national run as a support act. Liveconformdie have taken to social media to voice their extreme annoyance at the news, sharing the following statement via Facebook and Instagram.
Dropout Kings live up to their name.Due to an extremely unprofessional level of communication, our AUS tour with DOK was just cancelled out of the blue - only two weeks before we were scheduled to fly out. We’ve spent tens of thousands on flights, accommodation and transport, that will most likely not be refunded. Our entire band and crew have also taken time off our full time jobs, which is another huge setback. We’ve been looking forward to this tour for over 6 months and still want to make the most of a very shitty situation.Tag who you’d like to see us play with in your city: Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra, Melbourne & Adelaide. If you're in a band and wanna help us out and play a show, DM us rn.If we can't sort this out this week, it'll be a full plug pull.Love, liveconformdie x
The WA band's irritated take on the situation has prompted a lot of fans to point out the startling irony of Dropout Kings dropping out of a tour in this way, given they've previously called out Lil Xan for cancelling a support run they'd secured with him at similarly late notice. At the time of that particular cancellation, Dropout Kings shared their own displeasure stating "@lilxanfuhyobih dropped off our tour after everyone already left cross country. Didn’t show up for his set at so what. We’re rebooking this entire tour stay tuned. Please bear with us. Also, fuck Lil Xan” and then hastily booked a tour called the Fuck Lil Xan Tour.
Much like Dropout Kings in the Lil Xan fiasco, Liveconformdie are trying to make the best of a bad situation, seeking out new shows for the dates they'd committed to and encouraging local bands in each city to get in touch to help make them happen.
Dropout Kings have posted their own take on the cancellation, which they're officially calling a postponement, offering some hope that the tour may actually happen at a later date.
