Sydney/Newcastle country duo McAlister Kemp have claimed they were forced from their Nashville studio after a fire started in a keyboard speaker.

Recording for the third album, the band's label have reported that whilst the Rukkus studio filled with smoke there was no major damage done to other equipment and the local fire brigade took control of the situation swiftly. No one was hurt in the incident.

The record, to be released through ABC music, is slated for January 2014. The band will play the Gympie Muster and CMC Rocks Townsville in August and September respectively.
