Some telling results.

Results from a new survey conducted by APRA AMCOS have shown that Australians love their local music and are calling for the Federal Government to put more effort into its industry.

The 'Support Australian Music' survey showed that a whopping 98% of respondents believe the government should be investing in the Australian music industry.

See below for a brief overview of the study.

  • 98% say the music industry is an important part of Australia's culture and identity
  • 90% believe Australian music is worth millions of dollars to the economy
  • 91% believe it creates job growth
  • 90% enjoy seeing live music
  • 72% say a commitment to the investment of Australian music would influence their vote in the federal election on 2 July

The results comes just a week after the Greens party made an election promise to launch a living wage for artists and musicians, which would assist with costs such as rent.
