Adelaide's own Alt. have returned with a new single, The Great Depression, their second outing since getting signed to Resist Records in Australia and SharpTone Records for the rest of the world.

Led by pulsating electronics and dirty riffs, clean vocals and an important message, Alt. are armed with a song to take them to even greater heights.

"THE GREAT DEPRESSION is about the ever-growing cases of anxiety and depression in the world," Alt. vocalist Daniel Cullen-Richards shares. "Social media and the pandemic are playing huge roles in the decline of mental health everywhere. Some people are looking to death to end the suffering in the war against our own mind."

The song was produced, mixed and mastered by Callan Orr at Avalanche Studios. Fans can expect to witness this brand-new single live in action this Autumn, with Alt. set to join American rockers Saosin on their Australian tour this March, visiting some of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth's best heavy music venues.

"It's with great pleasure we announce our signing to @sharptonerecs & @resistrecords," the band wrote in November. Blending unsettling electronics and turntables, light and shade, and fiery vocals, Wraith, the first song Alt. released since getting signed, will surely go off live.

At the Northlane, Plini, Sleep Token, and Alt. show at The Tivoli, we said about Alt.: "they ripped out a high-energy set. They are a band turning heads here, there and everywhere, so it's unsurprising that when catching up with singer Daniel later, hearing that there is lots of label interest in their next release... which is sick to hear! Congrats on an amazing, albeit speed-bump-filled tour run, lads. Well done on responding and acting on what has happened, and rising above and delivering solid AF performances."
