The director tells us it would be a no-brainer.

Thor: Ragnarok doesn't hit Australian cinemas until tomorrow but talk is already underway for a fourth film in the popular Marvel franchise.

Early reviews are praising the new comedic direction of the new Thor, thanks largely due to its director, New Zealand's own Taika Waititi (see our review here).

Speaking to The Music this month while in Sydney, the filmmaker, who makes his Hollywood feature debut with Thor: Ragnarok, said he wouldn't hesitate to return for another round.

"Yeah for sure," Waititi said.

"Once this is out and once we've finished all the last little bits of work on this I think we'll regather and decide whether or not we can bear to work together for another two years.

"Luckily, I've made a lot of friends at Marvel and it's been a really cool relationship, and yeah, I'd definitely go back."

In an interview with Screen Rant earlier this month, Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege said they would "love" to team up with Waititi again.

"Well, we'll see. I would love, love, love to work with Taika again and I have every confidence that we will," Feige said.

"What we’re working on right now is the next six movies. The next six movies that will bring us to Untitled Avengers in May 2019, which carries off a lot of what you see in this movie
