Several Aussies feature in the nominations

The 25th annual Pollstar Awards have revealed their nominees, with a handful of prominent Australian promoters, venues and one of our biggest festivals up for awards.

In the catgeory of International Promoter Of The Year, Michael Chugg and Chugg Entertainment will go head to head with Michael Coppel and Live Nation against a number of other overseas promoters, while Pink's Aussie manager Roger Davies has been nominated for Personal Manager Of The Year.

Our favourite Easter long weekend festival Byron Bay Bluesfest is in the running (for the second consecutive year) for International Music Festival Of The Year. Bluesfest will take on the likes of Glastonbury, Rock In Rio and Lollapalooza Chile for the honour.

Two local venues are also in the mix to take home awards. Perth Arena is up for Best New Major Concert Venue, with Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena nominated for International Venue Of The Year.

Of Bluesfest's second nom in a row, Festival Director Peter Noble acknowledged the prestige of such an award.

"The nominees are chosen by a cross section of International professionals and leaders in the Industry so it really shows what level Bluesfest is sitting at world-wide and I couldn't be prouder”

The awards, run by the Pollstar publication, honour artists and professionals in the concert industry.

The Pollstar Awards will take place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Friday 21 February.
