Soundwave promoter approaches frontman on twitter.
The curious case of Dave Mustaine and Megadeth's cancellation of their forthcoming dates as a part of the Soundwave Festival continues this afternoon, with Soundwave boss AJ Maddah making a public plea to Mustaine to clear up the issues surrounding his very late cancellation, under two weeks before the first scheduled performance.
Maddah has maintained that he is close with Mustaine and says that all the artist is doing is hurting his fans.
@DaveMustaine Dave, we have been friends for a long time and I love you. Your family is like my own.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine But the only people being punished here are the fans.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine We took instructions from your representatives and we acted on those instructions as we would with any other artist.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
Maddah goes on to say that Mustaine had a change of management and agent amongst the recent wranglings.

@DaveMustaine I realise that you fired your agent and manager and appointed new ones during the process...
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine And that there may have been misunderstandings or miscommunications but none of those were at our end.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine Despite of this, I sent you a statement regarding possible misunderstandings/miscommunications, apologising to fans, etc,
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine ...even though my people did everything by the book and correct protocol was undertaken getting approvals for supports.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
Maddah maintains that it was Megadeth who requested Newsted be taken off the Sidewave shows they were headlining in Sydney and Melbourne and says he has evidence of that fact.
@DaveMustaine There are strings of emails supporting this, including ones forwarded with instructions to remove certain artists.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
He also responds to Mustaine's comments made this morning that all he wanted from Soundwave was an apology.
@DaveMustaine I am not sure where and how you believe you are owed an apology. And if you are, it should be from your own reps!
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine All you are doing by cancelling is punishing the fans who have had no part in any of this.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine Your reps approved your supports and sent clear instructions. They even approved artwork and press release.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine If you have a quarrel, or you were not consulted then your issue is with your reps and not Australian reps or your old friend!
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
He ends the open letter by apologising to Mustaine, though maintains he is still unaware as to why he needs to do so.
@DaveMustaine So here it is Dave. I apologize for whatever slight you think I have done you.
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
@DaveMustaine So, does this mean tour is back on?
— AJ (@iamnotshouting) February 10, 2014
Mustaine is yet to respond to the tweets.
