“We have bold ambitions to shine a light on the amazing entrepreneurs Australia is producing in the music industry."
The winner of Australian Institute of Music’s inaugural Hackathon, an initiative in partnership with ARIA, will be announced during a special live-streamed event today, hosted via theMusic.com.au.
The new competition was revealed earlier this month, with AIM putting a call out to budding entrepreneurs to develop an original business idea that addresses physical or mental wellness in the local music industry.
Some of the best entrants will be revealed from 11am via the below video before a winner of the $5,000 cash prize is announced.
Hackathon will be judged by Jacqui Louez Schoorl (Founder of Jaxsta), Nicc Johnson (Founder of Muru Music Health) and Andrea Culligan, and viewers will also be able to vote in real-time for their favourite entry.
The institution will also be launching Australia’s first incubator dedicated to music startups, The AIM Innovation Hub, during the event, “coordinating a community of founders, industry partners, mentors and investors with a suite of services, strategies and facilities to create a thriving ecosystem”.
“We have bold ambitions to shine a light on the amazing entrepreneurs Australia is producing in the music industry,” AIM Innovation and Industry Consultant Stephen Hunt said.
