Victor Huml, the bassist for '90s Brisbane outfit Mouthguard, will run for the seat of Greenslopes in the state election next May.

Formed in the late '90s, Mouthguard established themselves as one of Brisbane's premier punk acts and just this year supported US thrashers DRI's show at Crowbar.

Meanwhile, Rancid's Lars Frederiksen has thrown his support behind Huml in a video posted to Facebook earlier this week.
