The second consecutive win for the boys
Local pop-rock phenomenon 5 Seconds Of Summer have taken out this year's Channel [V] Oz Artist Of The Year, edging out metalcore mainstays The Amity Affliction and indie-pop teen Troye Sivan.
The news was announced on this morning's edition of Channel [V]'s The Riff. It caps off a big year for the 5SOS boys, who have enjoyed considerable chart success and fame both here and overseas. They also picked up Song Of The Year at last week's ARIA Awards.
This is the second consecutive win of the title for the Sydney quartet, who took out the 2013 award.
The edgy boy band beat out 49 other local artists in the long-running, public-voted competition. Previous winners include Seth Sentry, Silverchair, Wolfmother and The Veronicas.
