2016 Keir Choreographic Award Recipient Announced

Ghenoa Gela takes the prize.

The Keir Foundation have announced the winner of the 2016 Keir Choreographic Award as Sydney-based choreographer Ghenoa Gela.

This was the second edition of Australia's first choreographic award, which was launched in 2014, and included four remarkable performances led by outstanding choreographers Rebecca Jensen, Sarah Aiken, Martin Hansen and of course Gela's Fragments of Malungoka - Women Of The Sea.

Gela is an independent performing artist and proud Torres Strait Islander who, along with her efforts in dance, has worked across mediums including television, stage and circus.
