ABOUT US:

The Australasian Music Publishers’ Association Limited (AMPAL) is the primary industry association representing music publishers in Australia and New Zealand. AMPAL’s mission is to support and advocate for music publishers, their songwriters and composers, helping to drive success of the music publishing sector in Australia and New Zealand.

AMPAL provides a range of services and support to its members. This includes lobbying for favourable legislative frameworks, providing industry knowledge and expertise, and creating opportunities for publishers and songwriters to connect with each other and with stakeholders in the music industry. The association works to ensure that music publishers remain a central part of the music ecosystem, contributing to both the cultural richness and economic viability of the sector.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications & Development Officer to join our team at AMPAL, and to enhance our brand visibility and engagement through a variety of communication channels.  As this is the first time AMPAL has recruited for this role, there is a unique chance for the right candidate to make this position truly their own. The ideal candidate will have expertise in:  social media management, website content, grants/fundraising/sponsorship, membership, event coordination and other communication strategies. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to elevate AMPAL’s outreach efforts and membership growth and offering.

This is a great opportunity to make a difference and create your own meaningful role with a small team constantly striving to be better and working alongside AMPAL’s General Manager and Chair on a day-to-day basis.

This newly-created role has been made possible (and is wholly funded) by a Music Australia Core Contribution Funding grant.

Your responsibilities will span the following areas:

·      Communications

·      Social Media Management

·      Website Content & Maintenance

·      Grants, Funding & Sponsorship

·      Membership

·      Event Coordination

WHO YOU ARE:

Our preferred candidate will have:

·      Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.

·      Minimum of three years’ experience as a communications and/or development executive (or similar) with a focus on social media management, website content, grants/fundraising/ sponsorship, membership, and event coordination.

·      Familiarity with industry and passion for music
