What?
Fresh off the back of their respective projects ""The New Film Star"" and I LEFT MYY HEART OUT WEST, Western Sydney rappers Zion Garcia and SOLLYY are taking it on the road for the The Film Star Left His Heart Out West Tour.
Ever since Polynesian, Western Sydney-based rapper, producer and filmmaker Zion Garcia emerged onto his city’s music circuits, he has made the ground shake. Now, the artist has found his home within fluorescent lights; his long-deserved stardom already being written. His autobiographical debut project ZION GARCIA: (THEATRICAL VERSION) plays out like a vignette to the blockbuster that is ""The New Film Star""; the next chapter in the artist’s sonic journey. The project is filled with sentiments of growth, accountability, independence, love, grief and confident delusion. Taking its name from a book he read that explores the Golden Ages of Hollywood, Zion vowed to reclaim space on behalf of the brown folk the book fails to acknowledge. So far, the project has seen strong support from triple j, COLORSxSTUDIOS, Apple Music, AUD'$, Acclaim Magazine, and more.
SOLLYY is the self proclaimed cult Australian artist. He seeks to redefine the bounds of modern hip-hop as a multi-faceted producer, rapper, and DJ. His DIY approach to rap is evident in his discography, with tongue-in-cheek lyricism and R&B-inspired production chops forming the basis of his slick club-oriented sound. Based in Sydney, he brings community with him everywhere he goes, his unrefined blog-rap influenced visual & sonic aesthetic capturing the hearts and minds of a growing Sydney youth subculture. Having previously had his music featured on Pitchfork, triple j, BBC Xtra 1, Soulection Radio, the Today Show on Channel Nine & ABC Breakfast, the recent release of his debut album I LEFT MYY HEART OUT WEST has generated a cult following, garnering a Spotify editorial cover and an Apple Music feature slot.Joining them on all dates is iPod, an artist beached up from outer space to save Aus-rap.
