What?

Legendary propaganda rock band The Beards have added a new date to their largely sold-out Aussie tour of selected capital cities. Perth's Rosemount Hotel will play host to the beloved Aussie four-piece, giving those in the west the first opportunity in nearly ten years to see this iconic live act in action.

After becoming a mainstay of the Australian music scene in the 2010s, the South Australian quartet who famously sing songs about just one topic earned a reputation as an electrifying live act, renowned for their masterful songwriting, musicianship, and their unique brand of humour. They were frequent festival favourites, scored a spot in Triple J's Hottest 100, garnered millions of views on their Youtube channel, and were nominated for ARIA and APRA awards. The Beards shocked their legions of fans in 2016 when they announced their retirement from the stage.

In 2025, The Beards are back! After playing two blistering sets at this year's Bluesfest and announcing a run of capital city appearances later this year in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, the band were inundated with much public outcry from the west – the beard-appreciating people of Perth were not happy. Now, The Beards are heeding the calls of their devoted fans in WA and adding a date in Perth to their limited-run of shows.

“Perth is really far away, and we mistakenly thought they wouldn't mind if we didn't play there”. Said frontman Johaan Beardraven ahead of the announcement. “As it turns out, we were wrong. They did mind. And they let us know. It's only fitting that the people of Perth get a chance to hear what we have to say, and what we have to say... is beards.”

“It's good to know that people in Perth are still enthusiastic about beards and having beards”. Added drummer John Beardman Jr.

With crowd favourites like 'No Beard No Good', and 'If Your Dad Doesn't Have a Beard You've Got Two Mums', and 'You Should Consider Having Sex with a Bearded Man' audiences in Perth will now have the opportunity to see this refreshingly-original, highly-energetic and always-entertaining cult sensation live on stage.
