This week The Genevieves, Goldminds and Hard Rubbish are stopping by for a show.
The Genevieves are a Kaurna based rock band. All four members are equal parts in the machine, blending together four creative voices into a dynamic and unique sound. Following the success of their debut EP and east coast tour in early 2025, The Genevieves show no sign of stopping, heading up the east coast in September in support of their new double single. Their live set captures the group at their strongest, mixing elements of proto punk, shoegaze and noise rock into an exploration in sonic landscapes, raw energy and personal melancholy.
Goldminds are back! Melbourne’s garage-psych rockers blew up with their 2020 debut Signals, earning AMP Award shortlist honours, selling out venues, and landing tracks on Netflix and AMC+. Described by Rolling Stone as “leading the charge of Aussie rock” and by NME as sounding like they “could be sandwiched into any vintage hard-rock compilation,” Goldminds deliver raw power, grit, and pure fire onstage. After a three-year break, the band roared back onto the live scene in 2025 with packed-out shows at Lulie Tavern and The Gem, plus supports for Hot Machine and Bad Dreems. In October, they head into the studio to record their eagerly anticipated second album
Hard Rubbish is the project of former Dead Roo frontman, Jason Katsaras. Deeply personal, Katsaras' songs are sparse and separate—much like his relationships while moving around the country in the last few years. The Adelaide native's formative challenges across everyday life color each song, from bar work and lost love to finding one's place in the world. The series of singles released throughout 2019-2024 showcase a holistic range of styles and messages. From traditional, down-the-line country musings in ‘North East’ to atmospheric vulnerabilities in ‘Distort It’, Hard Rubbish covers a lot of ground in the short, tumultuous album. Having relocated to Naarm/ Melbourne Hard Rubbish are sinking their teeths into this vibrant cultural melting pot and eager to develop further.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
