What?

Known for their unapologetically abrasive sound and non-politically correct lyrics, Relays offer a gritty take on the realities of middle to low-income Australia. Their self-titled debut album features a collection of hard-hitting tracks, including the standout “No One Fu#ks Me Like The ATO,” a scathing commentary on the frustration of paying taxes to a government entity that feels increasingly out of touch. With a 23 date East Coast tour, inclusion in the 2024 Chopped Festival and over 30,000 plays on Spotify, Relays have quickly made a name for themselves in the Australian underground punk scene. Known for their blistering live shows, Relays deliver an element of unpredictability, largely thanks to the dynamic off kilter rizz of autistic frontman and guitarist Shann Lions.

Tench is the bastard child of lockdown boredom. Inspired by punk roots, Tench have Voltroned together from a mongrel of Melbourne bands including Peeling Sun, OX and Raised by Wolves. The band all grew up in country Victoria, but only now find themselves writing noisy stories. Slaves to the riff. Their sound is a nerve meld of noise punk and angular rock for fans of METZ, McClusky, Shellac and WHORES.

Sugargum make a sound that is as experimental as it is grounded; fusing classic rock with modern indie sensibilities to create genre defying, though catchy tunes. This young band is already making waves in Melbourne’s music scene with their unique blend of influences and their commitment to pushing musical boundaries.
