Parker/Caldwell Quartet Play Elvin Jones, Stone Alliance and More!

Join two up and coming Perth saxophonists Josh Parker and Aaron Caldwell as they present a night of jazz celebrating the music of Elvin Jones, Stone Alliance and Steve Grossman. Joined by bassist Finn McKibbin and drummer Callum Thomson, they will explore songs from Elvin Jones' 'Live at the Lighthouse' album as well as other favourites such as Steve Grossman's 'Some Shapes to Come' and the Stone Alliance catalogue. This interesting period of development in jazz music which happened during the 1970's saw many musicians such as Gene Perla, Steve Grossman and Don Alias crossing paths, and leaving behind a wealth of music which combined elements of funk, swing and avant-garde styles.
