What?

Henry Hugo has been described as a cult figure, a chameleon artist lurking in the depths of music, with a unique vocal style producing melancholic lyrics about daily human experiences. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound engineer and producer, Henry has played with the likes of Hugo Race, the late Spencer P. Jones, Steve Lucas (X), Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth), and many more. The Kindred Souls (Damian Hooper - bass, Scott Bennett - drums, Charlie Barker - keys/saw, Douglas Galbraith - guitar) present Henry's compositions through a moody alternative-rock sound and disposition. With special guests. Annual Leaf are a four piece band based in Melbourne. Legend has it that they sound like The Go-Betweens meet Pavement meet Flying Nun. The band has self-released several outstanding EPs, available via Bandcamp. This show will feature their latest EP “Beach Toy Library” as well as some new songs they have been working on with new drummer Billy (of Billy Cart). Routines are a post-rock outfit of harmonies, guitar, synth and drums. Jane Dust, Emily Jarrett and Clare Moore sing songs about routines and drudgery, but other songs touch on the sweeter themes of Japanese bears and hair removal. Routines are both serious and cynical; tasteless but tasty. They look forward to entertaining you if you want to be entertained; moving you even if you don't want to be moved. They're that kind of band.
