Gerry Smith is a Melbourne singer-songwriter whose indomitable spirit and positive energy is an inspiration to all who meet him.
Gerry has merged his screen writing and poetry skills with his love of jazz singing. His debut album comes later in life for Gerry, due to accessibility issues earlier on in his career. Creating his enriching and life- affirming album, which draws on his experience of growing up in the 60's and 70's and his experience of living as a man with cerebral palsy, is a wonderful insight into a unique and well-lived life.
Bringing his vision together with his APRA award-winning collaborators, Gerry recently released his debut album with this show being a part of his launch tour.
His band features former Mondo Rock guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Eric McCusker, an ARIA nominated and APRA Award winning iconic songwriter and musician who showcases his incredible guitar and bass skills in addition to his master songwriting and musicianship.
His ‘Well-Oiled Machine’ band also features award winning singer/songwriters Jake Mason and Jessica Paige.They are supported by Alanna & Alicia - twin sisters who blend folk, jazz and roots in their original, acoustic songs. Known for their sweet harmonies and fine songwriting, they have captivated audiences from the National Folk Festival, Canberra to Fairbridge, Western Australia with their warmth, wit and sense of fun. As identical twins, they have a rich, intuitive vocal blend, creating the kind of magical harmonies that are unique to siblings.?Think The Waifs, The Andrews Sisters. Their lyrics, equal parts heart and humour, sparkle with an original, intimate voice that is rare in songwriters today.
