What?

Off the back of her debut album release last year, Charlie Lane is going up the coast for her winter tour. Tanswell will be the second stop.

Charlie's known for her self-aware lyricism and her way of bringing a sense of almost tragic nostalgia to her audience juxtaposed with uplifting, fun melodies and a bubbly presence. Lane released her album ‘I’m Okay Now but I Wasn’t’ which is an autobiographical and therapeutic collection of songs that tell her unique story as a person living with a disability.

“Charlie’s stories and lyrics paint a picture that her music perfectly frames. It’s easy to establish a connection with Lane through her song banter and tales. Lane’s songs and stylings delve into the blues and at times she also has a slight country tinge to her music.” Charlie’s voice and songwriting ability has been compared to Joni Mitchell, Kate Nash and Sharon Van Etten. Lane has an interesting back story, one that has shaped her songwriting. Her storytelling ability through her music is said to have been “perfect”. While Lane appears to be like anyone else, her story is uniquely hers. Charlie Lane proves that true artistry transcends limitations.
