Much like local sparkly divas Leah Guelfi and Caitlin Cassidy, Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland shared a close friendship. Despite this, the only recorded footage of them together is from when Barbra appeared on The Judy Garland Show on October 4, 1963. In a charming moment before their iconic duet “Happy Days/Get Happy,” Judy quips to Barbra, “You’re so good, that I hate you.” To which Barbra responds, “It’s my ambition to be hated by as many singers as you.”
Join Perth’s own powerhouse vocalists, Caitlin and Leah, along with some of Perth’s finest jazz musicians, as they pay tribute to two of the greatest female singers of all time—Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland. Expect to hear some of their biggest hits, including “Don’t Rain On My Parade” and “Over the Rainbow”, alongside classic jazz standards, moving ballads like “The Man That Got Away”, and a few unforgettable duets, including the “Hooray for Love” medley and the“ Happy Days/Get Happy” duet from The Judy Garland Show.
This special matinee performance is an afternoon of musical magic celebrating the singers that inspired both Caitlin and Leah, and countless other generations of performers.
