WAM Festival Speaker Profile: Anna Laverty

How did you first become involved in the music business? I studied audio at WAAPA in WA, put on gigs and managed a couple of local bands.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? I’m a music producer and sound and mix engineer. I have worked in variations of this role for around 10 years working with artists such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Meg Mac, Cut Copy, Florence & the Machine etc.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at WAM? DIY Recording and WA music!

What do you hope to personally take away from the WA Music Conference and WAM Festival events? A heads up on what’s great in the WA music scene just now.

What's one question about the music industry you'd love to have the answer to? How can people still make a living out of an industry where the product is now pretty much free. There are so many hardworking people in the music biz and it would be good to see them compensated well for that work and commitment.
