Sydney's unconventional and intimate mini-festival Swell Time is back for its third round, aiming to bring art enjoyment back to smaller spaces amidst the overwhelming trend of large-scale events.
Taking over The House of Music & Booze on April 20, the festival offers a unique platform for emerging artists to intimately connect with their audience.

Past editions of Swell Time have been a melting pot of interactive art installations, DJs creating infectious house music dance floors, and a stage where bands captivate listeners. On top of this, the festival has become a showcase for Sydney's emerging talent, visually and sonically.
Each Swell Time event is anchored in a thematic idea, with the last edition exploring the theme of lust. This influence was felt across every aspect of the event, even featuring a matchmaking moment where two audience members met on stage.
This time around, however, the theme is being kept secret.
The festival has long been a supporter of local musicians, featuring acts such as Le Shiv, Babitha, Fig, Sweetie, Mega Fauna, Abroad, Georgia Mulligan, Maia Toakley, Liquid Time, Poolroom., Pyjama Sundyaz, Jet City Sports Club, Hatchling, and many others.
The commitment to local talent continues with an impressive lineup for the upcoming event, showcasing Sydney bands, DJs, and movers & shakers categories.
Notable names include Fig, Baby Beef, Micra, PEEL, Betty, Mannequin Radio, Dead sea dolls, Micah Jey, and more.
Meanwhile, art enthusiasts can anticipate curated installations by Chile Bainbridge and captivating visuals accompanying bands, thanks to Victor Shergill.
In a commendable move, 10% of all profits sold from tickets will be donated to the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE).
