Single title? Inside
What's the song about? Inside is dreaming about quitting my day job and having the faith to pursue the dreams in my head.
How long did it take to write/record? Ten minutes to write the lyrics. I wrote it for a heavy metal band, but then I joined Kim Killspeed and we have been playing it ever since. It's changed heaps from the original version.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? It's on our next EP, Second Skin. The track is produced by Jeff Martin (Tea Party) and Jeff plays on it. So we thought we should get it out as a single.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? My daydreams inspired me to write it. Recording with Jeff, I was pre-emptively nervous. But he lives and breathes music and I felt the most comfortable I've ever been singing and recording with him.
We'll like this song if we like... We often say we are a bit Fleetwood Mac. Add Jeff Martin's rock influence and maybe a bit Bo Diddley.
Do you play it differently live? Yes. The song has evolved a lot. It's a more powerful now and more complex. We play it differently every time we gig!
