What's the song about? Taking your time with life, not comparing yourself to others and whatever love or success they've found in their lives.
How long did it take to write/record? We wrote the song over a couple of weeks, bouncing ideas back and fourth. The recording/mixing was over the course of a couple of months between home and professional studios.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? Forthcoming single release
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? During the writing we started playing with synths more and the whole idea kind of centred around this weird whaling lead synth line we somehow conjured up. That and a lot of Nile Rodgers.
We'll like this song if we like... Hot Chip, Chic, The Presets, Damn Arms, '80s new wave, weirdness with pop hooks.
Do you play it differently live? No, we like to really keep all the elements we love about the track included when we perform it live, including the detuned vocals and screaming synths.
