How would you personally describe shoegaze music? An ethereal and enveloping wall of sound.
How did you first discover shoegaze and what drew you in enough to actually perform it? Via psychedelia and post-punk. I've always been drawn to obscure guitar sounds so it was a good fit.
What seminal album would you offer someone who knew nothing about shoegaze as an introduction and why? Ride - Nowhere, it's probably the most accessible out of the big three albums everyone name checks. Although, I'd say Loveless by My Bloody Valentine has definitely played the biggest role in defining the genre.

How's the camaraderie and size of the shoegaze scene in Melbourne? It's great, in the past few years it's definitely gotten bigger and we've met heaps of great people through it. There's always a gig to see and you'll probably see the same people at a lot of them.
The tagline for Roogaze is "The scene that celebrates itself" - what will be the biggest cause for celebration on the night? Giving Andre Brett a big send off. That and the fact it's happening again, the first Roogaze gig two years ago was definitely one of the most memorable gigs I've been to.
What time are you playing the festival? 5:40-6:10pm.
