On August 9, 2014 an unarmed African-American teenager by the name of Michael Brown was shot six times by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Today marks just over a year since the anniversary of his death and the major protests and riots that occurred because of this and similar shootings like the murder of Trayvon Martin. Tensions are still high in Ferguson with fresh protests emerging to mark the year since his death. A lot has been said by those who condone the shooting and those who believe the officer was in the right.
