Our favourite crooning songsmith, Oliver Downes, has released the first video from his hotly anticipated new album, Ultraviolet, which drops at the end of this month. Never Let Me Go is a gentle ode to dysfunctional love and that’s exactly what we get in his cryptic clip.
While Downes’ dreamy ballade drifts soothingly over the top, we see a romantic tiff get way out of hand, sparked by the contents of a mysterious wooden box. We’re not sure exactly what’s in there, but whatever it is, it's worth rolling around in the mud for.
Check it out and get and get ready for the release of Ultraviolet on September 23, with a launch show at The Wesley Anne with support from Jess Locke. You can also catch him on his album launch tour around NSW and ACT in Oct.
