Who better to feed the hungry masses at the Newtown Festival than the suburb's finest gastronomes, baristas, brewers and mixologists.
Who better to feed the hungry masses at the Newtown Festival than the suburb's finest gastronomes, baristas, brewers and mixologists. The Newtown Locals represent the great and the good of the area's independent eateries and bars. With a shared love of quality produce offered at affordable prices, Newtown locals will be taking over Camperdown Park, offering some specially devised dishes and beverages exclusive to the Festival. Here's what's on offer.
Thirsty festivalgoers will have a wide choice of tipples to sample, including a range of quality wines from For The Dandy In The Clos and Sparrow & Vine. There's also some surprising curve balls to discover. Brewery masters Young Henrys, best known for their craft beers and ciders, have turned their hands to the art of gin distilling, and coffee maestros Fleetwood Macchiato will be serving up their house-made range of refreshing sodas. Caffeine addicts needn't worry though. The talented baristas of 2042 will be brewing up their specialty roasts too.
We recommend you turn up to the festival hungry, as there's a mouthwatering range of eats on offer including tasty treats from Black Star Pastry, Continental Delicatessen, The Stinking Bishops and N2 Extreme Gelato. Some of the area's best boutique restaurants will be collaborating to create five specially devised dishes for just $10 a pop. With the likes of the petrolheads of the Rising Sun Workshop, contemporary French bistro Oscillate Wildly, sharing plate experts Bloodwood and the American soul food maestros of Hartsyard involved, these bargain eats are not to be missed.

Not only is there a shed load of deliciousness on offer, it's all for a very good cause too. All profits will be directly donated to FIRST RESPONSE - Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, a frontline emergency response service, dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness and homelessness within the Inner West area. There's also the annual Newtown Locals t-shirt competition to check out.
