Harley House Bar and Grill has become known for serving pisco sours and authentic Peruvian food. Thing is, you have almost certainly never heard of it.
Set in a New York style basement in a laneway at the back of a building on Collins Street, it's almost a Melbourne cliche. Ridiculously hard to find, and well worth the search.
The space is industrial with leather booths and original art by Vincent Fantauzzo adorning the bare brick walls. The lighting is low, and the atmosphere is buzzy. Customers come for the ceviche and chargrilled steaks, but also the service, which is slick, professional and engaging in equal measure.
It's been called the height of Peruvian cool for a reason. If you can find it, of course.
