When did you start making music and why? I jumped into the Figures camp in June 2016 because I finally found a bunch of people making exactly the kind of music I live for. Figures has been on the Melbourne scene since 2014.
Sum up your musical sound in four words? Blistering riffs, inspirational melody
If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? I’d be pretty content to listen to Aenima (Tool) for the rest of my days, that album takes me places like no other. Tool was one of my earliest concerts, I’ll never forget that feeling.
Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Our shows are usually hot and sweaty, but playing to a full house at the Corner with Twelve Foot Ninja, no air-conditioning in the middle of summer was next level. We definitely melted some faces that night, mostly our own.
Why should people come and see your band? A Figures show is no-nonsense heavy riffs, and you’re guaranteed to go away with something stuck in your head.
When and where are your next gigs? This Saturday, 25 Feb we headline the Workers Club in Fitzroy with Nobody’s Home, Darcee Fox and Enlight.
