Why should punters visit you? Quality entertainment six nights a week (jazz, blues, roots, comedy, burlesque), an amazing sound system, a glamorous retro environment, competitively priced drinks, amazing cocktails and friendly staff. Awesome for functions/parties.
What's the best thing about the venue? B.E.D attracts the creme of the crop of Sydney's roots musicians and now, with a much bigger space/stage and huge PA, (plus a much later licence 'til 3am) we can provide even bigger and better line-ups!
What is your venue doing to help the local music scene? Thursdays we host JR's Jazz Jam. Local musos come and jam and hang, meet, have a drink, talk, etc. Jam nights are important for musicians to network. Our mission is all about supporting live music.
What have been some of the highlights at the venue? In Glebe, we had tonnes of great artists such Christa and Vashti Hughes, White Knuckle Fever, Adam Pringle, Craig Calhoun, and a role call of Sydney's finest from the jazz, blues, soul and funk scenes.
What are the plans for the venue in the future? We want to diversify, put on bigger bands and bigger line-ups. Potentially, I see us encompassing more rock and roll, filling the void left by the closure of other music specific venues (Newtown Social Club, etc).
