Visual explorations of the human ego..

London-based artist Tristan Pigott's is a fascinating body of work, both visually and conceptually. His oil paintings focus on ideas of ego and narcissism, utilising the abstraction of his subjects' backgrounds to demonstrate the liminal difference between 'performance and reality'. A constant undertone is that of perception - Pigott's art seeks to playfully and subtly undermine the significance that we, as a society, place on image.
