FLASHBACK: DIG!

THEY WERE THE BEST OF TIMES! THE WERE THE WORST OF TIMES…! Either way they made for one hell of a rockumentary (Rockumentary? Really? Feels rather odd writing that). DIG! is the story of The Brian Jonestown Massacre (BJM) and The Dandy Warhols - two Rock 'n Roll acts which both have there feet firmly planted in the clouds of hazy psychedelia.

DIG! cemented both bands, fronted by Anton Newcombe and Courtney Taylor respectively, in Rock ‘n Roll music history forever showing the people this wonderful love / hate relationship and pushing the portrayed of these two frontmen as the best of friends and archest of enemies (in the funnest of ways).

From scenes of riotous parties fuelled by drugs and booze, the most amazing live shows filled with bantering audiences and fights, crazy shenanigans involving roller skates, shotgun shells and early morning photo shoots at the BJM house.

It seems as thought Brian Jonestown come out on top of this one, the Dandy’s looking like major label pop stars loosing the plot pretty quickly - come on… working on your fourth record when Anton has practically single handed released three times that amount in half the number of years.

But really they are both great bands and this is one of the funniest, Rock 'n Roll documentaries release in… forever.

The question now is… Who do you DIG?
