An album that…made you want to become a musician?

Can't say one really, sorry. I'll go with: all my uncle’s records. Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Pink Floyd. All stuff you can 'leave the planet' too, as he is fond of saying... before leaving the planet, if you know what I mean.

An album that…had the biggest impact and influence on you?

Smashing Pumpkins – ‘Siamese Dream’

From the opening octave riff it had me, and it’s kept me for years. It’s an album I can always go back to and marvel at, the strange way it’s preformed, the surety of the song writing, the lush, dense production of it. A Massive influence in how I approach song writing, even now.

An album that…instantly puts you in a good mood?

Paul Simon – ‘Graceland’

Just something about it. It’s terribly cheesy, with its 80's drum sounds and fretless bass. But at the same time, the songwriting is timeless, feel good and yet soul nourishing beautiful. Impossible 'not' to dance along to, yet alone sing along to as well!

An album that…you consider a guilty pleasure?

I think I may have already said that one (laughs). A lot of what I listen to is considered 'guilty' by the other boys in the tour van. I'll go with Marilyn Manson’s Mechanical Animals. Great songs, great production, tongue in cheek blazing wit and irony.

An album that…you considered a let down?

I'm going to go with Metallica's Load here. I had friends who loved it. But I did not.

An album that…you wished you preformed on?

I'd love to have, or would love to, preform on anything put together by Brian Eno or Hans Zimmer. Cause a. it would be incredible to work with cats like that and b. I reckon I could bring something to that party... like tequila.

An album that…you consider underrated?

Nine Inch Nails- Year Zero.

I think its single went okay, but it’s not often a favourite with NIN fans either. I love it. I get that it’s missing real drums sounds, but it’s cohesive, oddly epic and has the great destroyer on it- that song is amazing!

An album that…you’d have played at your funeral?

I'm going to go with two here…and really it's two songs from two albums.

Four seasons in one day from the Crowded House album Woodface and An Ending (ascent) from Brian Eno's Album Apollo. If they remember me as a cunt at least the music will get them crying.
